Richard Neale & Sons No 1. for conservatories

Lofts

You could be sitting under a hidden asset that has never seen the light of day. At the moment it may only be used as a general storage area or somewhere to house the water tank. Yet with a little imagination and the help of some professional expertise, your loft could be transformed into versatile living space.

If your family is outgrowing your home or you simply want some extra rooms or space, you do not need to go to the trouble of moving. A loft conversion allows you to add space without having to move (and probably add value to your property as well).

Converting a loft is often much more straightforward than people realise and in every sense, it is an investment that can pay big dividends.

Loft conversions vary enormously in both cost and make-up depending on the size and shape of the roof simple roof shapes are invariably easier to convert, but also much depends on how you choose to use your new living space.

Velux roof windows or dormer windows can be used depending on what internal height is available.

Roofs of properties built before 1965 are ideal for loft conversions as they usually had reasonably steep pitches and relatively clear spaces between the supporting framework. After 1965, roofs used widely in Britain usually had a shallower pitch and more struts and as a result are more difficult to convert.

Richard Neale & Sons, also trading as Atticus, was primarily set up for the design and building of superior conservatories and porches as well as for windows and doors and is a well established family firm.

Loft conversion has now become a major part of our operations. We offer a full design and planning service and are able to provide the full range of trades necessary to complete the contract from start to finish, i.e. building works, electrics, tiling, heating, plumbing etc.

We give free quotations for the cost of any conversion without pressure or obligation.
